MEETING ROOM
Continuous Presence
Option for VUGate Networked Video Communications
MEETING ROOM
is VUGate's continuous presence option for the SuperHub Video PBX
product line. The SuperHub series of real-time multipoint video
communication hubs come standard with VUGate's patented
"video-follows-voice" for multipoint video calls. This patented
feature provides for an unlimited number of participants in a
multipoint videoconference where the participant speaking shows up
on every other participants display. The SuperHub supports an
unlimited number of simultaneous multipoint calls using this
feature. For those instances and applications where the
participants all wish to see each other simultaneously, VUGate
offers Meeting Room, our "continuous presence option", in several
versions: Meeting Room 4, Meeting Room 9 and Meeting Room 16
(Meeting Room 16 is available via VUGate's Custom Systems only).

Meeting Room 4 |
 |
Meeting Room 4
is the most recognizable version of the product line because its
basic features are similar to those offered by
other vendors in the industry - that is up to four participants in
a continuous presence multipoint call. As with other similar
systems, if you only have one Meeting Room 4 installed on your
system, you can only have one "continuous presence" session
operating at any time. However, with the VUGate SuperHub you can
also have as many "video-follows-voice" multipoint sessions going
on simultaneously with the Meeting Room 4 session. And as an
additional feature the VUGate Meeting
Room 4 supports the ability to have more than four participants in
the "continuous presence" videoconference by providing
"video-follows-voice" within one or all four of the "continuous
presence" windows - a feature unique to VUGate. This means that
you can have three participants which remain constant in three of
the windows, while the fourth window can have 2, 5, 10, 50 or more
participants who show up in the window as they speak. If
required, this "video-follows-voice" in the window can be extended
to two, three or all four windows. The Meeting Room 4
implementation also provides the means to route streaming media
and/or multicast video to one or more of the windows, while
supporting all the previous features listed above. These Meeting
Room features are unique in the industry and provide the user with
a more powerful and flexible set of tools to work with in their
multipoint video communications applications.

Meeting Room 9 |
 |
Meeting Room 9
and Meeting Room 16 are additional variations of
"continuous presence", which provide a nine window and sixteen
window display respectively. While the sixteen window display is
an unusual window configuration there are applications which
require such displays. The nine window configuration is not an
unusual configuration for certain applications and is a popular
alternative to the Meeting Room 4 - four window implementation.
In addition, Meeting Room 9 and Meeting Room 16 come standard with
a "real-time" configuration tool
which allows the user to convert the 16 window Meeting Room into a
9 window or 4 window Meeting Room and/or convert a 9 window
Meeting Room display into a 4 window Meeting Room. This means you
can have a nine window capability for those large conference
requirements and be able to convert to a four window
implementation - on-the-fly - for those smaller meetings. This is
another feature unique to VUGate.

Meeting Room 16
|

Meeting Room 9 and Meeting Room 16 have all the
same features and functions described above for Meeting Room 4,
just with more "continuous presence" windows!
The VUGate system can support an unlimited
number of Meeting Rooms on the SuperHub Video PBX within certain
configuration constraints.
